Confidentiality
We take confidentiality extremely seriously. We have strict confidentiality and data protection policies which are adhered to by all members of staff. We are registered with the Information Commissioner and comply with The Freedom of Information Act.
Cross Infection Control
Our number one priority at Claudine Gourlay Dental Practice is your safety. Nothing else comes above this. Our fully qualified nurses follow strict infection control procedures. All instruments and hand pieces are sterilised after each patient and equipment that cannot be sterilised is disposed of in special clinical waste receptacles
We adhere to all current Health and Safety Regulations and the British Dental Association Good Practice Guidelines.
CQC
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and the General Dental Council and have obtained BDA Good Practice status.
On 28 November 2013, we were inspected by the CQC ( Care and Quality Commission), the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England.
We are delighted to say that we were given a glowing report and were found to be compliant with all outcomes/criteria that we were assessed for:
- Treating people with respect and involving them in their care.
- Providing care, treatment and support that meet people’s needs.
- Caring for people safely and protecting them from harm.
- Staffing.
- Quality and suitability of management.

Continuing Professional Education
The whole team is passionate about dentistry and we all look forward to the many courses we attend throughout the year. We are members of the BDA, GID, BADN and many more. We all read various dental journals and are members of online dental forums. We have monthly practice meetings that include a subject to discuss and review. We all exceed our required CPD hours.
